About Me

I'm Mike and this is my Journey after being diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis . I'm a 40 year old family man, been in the security industry for 20 years until having to accept my time was up due to MS, big football fan (West Ham United), keen gardener but still very much a novice, basic level guitar player, write the occasional poem, play the odd Xbox game and just try really hard to keep myself ticking over as best as possible. My music taste is all over the place, Metal is my main genre but love 80s Rock, 90s dance, country, bit of classical and very occasionally some modern stuff. Really enjoy getting out on the scooter with some music on and just getting fresh air in my lungs.

All in all I'm about as average as it gets, family is my everything and I'm really lucky to have a fantastic support network, for which I'm eternally grateful.

I am actually a very private person, but, since my diagnosis I was adamant about getting as much out in public as possible, to try and support others that might be going through similar, It's not always easy to talk about things but, actually, it really does help for me to get things out in the open and off my chest.

My main symptoms

*Numbness (legs and feet)

*tightness around lower chest (MS Hug)

*Foot drop (right side)

*cognitive issues (short term memory)

*electric shock pains (all over)

*water drop feelings (top of the head)

*lower back pain

*fatigue
